A WC without a "Fear Factor"

Last year in the IPL semifinal between DD and DC,the Indian Dashing opener Virender Sehwag injured his shoulder and paid a huge price. He missed team India's T20 WC campaign. The WC campaign didn't last long. The short lived campaign was full of controversies. The News ,that Sehwag hid his shoulder injury from his skipper, spreaded like a wild fire.,Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was keen to break the romours that were spreading through media. Newspaper called the headlines as "Drift Between Indian Captain and Vice Captain". So, to break these romours, he brought the entire squad in front of the pressmeet to show that they were all united and were ready for defending the championship. Bringing entire squad in front of the pressmeet was strange. But doing the unexpected thing is Team India's policy. They were expected to defend championship, but unexpectedly they were sent out from super eight stages.

This time around, just before another WC campaign, Viru has again injured his shoulder. Will this affect Team India's performance in WC? or Will they be crowned as champions? Only time knows.

I am not taking any credit from M.Vijay who has been named as a replacement for Viru. He had a dream IPL season. He is that sort of batsman who purly depends on his footwork and timing. He can play in front of the wicket just driving you in 'V' or he may even loft you over midwicket for a maximum.

Virender Sehwag is a factor that any opposition would fear for. India is going to miss that factor for sure..

  1. Viru's loss is a serious setback.. Every other team is getting stronger by the day in T20 format.. India, though has a lineup of attacking players viru's indispensable.. hope Vijay does justice to viru
